Toy Pomeranian Puppies: The Cutest Pups Ever!
March 13, 2009 at 2:55 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

You may or may not agree with this statement but I truly believe that toy pomeranian puppies are the cutest ever. They are so fluffy and cuddly. A puppy of any dog breed is gorgeous I know, but they grow up into big Dogs and that is the difference with the pomerian (as some people spell it) because when these little treasures grow up they still look like toy pomeranian puppies.
You always feel like you own a puppy instead of a full-grown dog. Being a toy breed means they are small and often fragile so they do need some extra care especially around young children. When they are puppys this is even more important. Just squeezing too tightly or being dropped can be fatal.
If you are interested in purchasing a pom and would prefer a puppy then do your research and find out if you and you family will be suited to owning one of these delightful little creatures. Have a look at lots of pictures either in books or online. Read as much as you can about their needs and wants. The last thing you should do is buy a pup and then realize it won’t fit in with your lifestyle. This is not something to think of lightly.
Ask the local vet where you can find a good breeder that has toy pomeranian puppies for sale or look online yourself and then do some good checking out of breeders to find reputable ones to compare with. Always ask to see the pup’s parents and make sure the puppy is healthy and has been vet checked. Make sure you get documentation on this.
In the end, if you go ahead with bringing a pom pup into your family it will be one of the best decisions of your life!
The Rex Files: Your Dog and the Law
March 12, 2009 at 11:40 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments
->
Every year 5 million dog bite reports are filed. Over $1 billion are paid in losses. Reacting to complaints, city councils are passing ever more ordinances that affect dog ownership. Neighborhood, rental complexes, and home owners associations are including rules for regulating pets within their boundaries. Even Insurance companies are putting in their two cents worth when it comes to our furry family members. While it’s not always a top concern for many dog owners, it’s definitely in your best interest to be aware of the legal implications of owning a pet. Considering that animal laws are not usually a result of state or federal battles (contrary to that portrayed in Legally Blonde 2), but rather the consequence of neighborhood squabbles turned complaints to local governments, it’s the duty of a pet owner to be aware of possible nuisance factors and train your dog to be a good canine citizen, to prevent confrontation or the threat of litigation.
To start, you should become acquainted with the state and county laws as well as the pet-related ordinances in your city. These vary from location to location, and can often be found on the internet. These rules encompass such things as licensing and tagging your pet, leash laws, limits, vaccination requirements, breeding restrictions, and areas where no dogs may be allowed. While most governments have found it unconstitutional to ban specific breeds, you may want to check your home owner’s Insurance policy in case they charge a fine for more “aggressive†breeds such as pit bulls and rottweilers.
Keep in mind that just because there’s not a law against something, it doesn’t mean Rover couldn’t get in trouble doing it. Good neighbor laws constitute practices that keep canines on the friendly side of the law. Gone are the days when you could let the dog out unsupervised to do its thing. Better to play it safe. After all, it is up to you to prove that you are a responsible owner, and that your dog is an asset to the neighborhood. Once you’ve given your neighbors cause to believe otherwise you may quickly find out how miserable your neighbors can make your life.
First and foremost, know your dog. Know what agitates him, watch for aggressive behavior and NEVER encourage it by playing combative games. (The majority of dog bite victims are family members. Never “mean up†your dog to turn it into a watch dog!) On the contrary, properly socialize your dog, and let neighbors, especially their children, know what your dog will and will not tolerate. If your dog does biteâ€â€Âor even snapâ€â€Âtalk to your vet right away. Dog bites are the most prevalent and expensive legal problem; take this warning seriously and keep your dog’s nose out of the courtroom!
The second most publicized pet problem has to do with irresponsible dog breeders. I’m talking about those owners who start with a female dog, and for one reason or another they neglect having her spayed. Within months Ginger is pregnant. Litter after litter, puppies are born, and given away, left to roam the neighborhood, or dumped. Unless you are a professional breeder with champion-quality purebreds, there is no good reason to breed your pet. Don’t fall prey to the notion that Pookie needs a litter to feel fulfilled, or that Shasta will be a wimp if he is neutered. Above all, forget the idea that the kids will learn the miracle of life if their pet has a litter. Good, responsible pet owners always sterilize their animals.
To further foster positive pet attitudes in your neighborhood, follow these general guidelines: never leave your pet outside unattended. Dogs left outside may bark, dig their way out of the yard, or menace passer-bys. Keep Baron confined when he’s not on a leash. Always clean up after your pet, even in your own yard. A lawn dotted with dog feces raises eyebrows of even the most patient neighbor. Finally, attend obedience training for at least two sessions to teach Rex some manners. You may consider certifying Winnie with the Canine Good Citizen test when she is past six months old.
Being aware and proactive about the legal side of dog ownership pays off for everyone in the end: dogs, their owners, law-makers, as well as the general public. Remember, it is your responsibility to show that dog ownership is respectable and responsible.
The Search Engines Spiders - How Does It Working
March 12, 2009 at 9:25 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments
->
You need search engines to bring your website to the attention of prospective customers. So it is better to know how the search engines really work and how they present information to the customer that is performing a search.
There are basically two types of search engines. The first is by robots that are called web crawlers or spiders.
Most Search Engines use spiders to index websites. When you complete the required submission page for each search engine their specific Spider will index your entire site. The “spider” or “web crawler” is the automated program run by the search engines that visits the web site, reads the content, meta tags and follows the links that the site connects to. The Spider returns all that information back to the central index of the search engine. Some spiders will only view a few levels of pages on each site so there is no sense in creating a 500 page web site.
Spiders will periodically return to the site to check for any new information or changes to existing information. The search engines determine this period themselves however with one of the major search engines like Google, you can set specific meta tags to tell the Spider to come back after a specified period of time.
The Spider is like a table of contents in a book, the actual content, links and references for all the websites it finds during a search are indexed. Some search engines like Google might index billions of pages per day.
When you ask a search engine to locate information, it is actually searching through the index which it has created and not actually searching the Web. Different search engines produce different rankings because not every search engine uses the same algorithm to search through the indices.
One of the things that a search engine algorithm scans for is the frequency and location of keywords on a web page, but it can also detect artificial keyword stuffing or spamdexing.
Then the algorithms analyze the way that pages link to other pages in the Web. By checking how pages link to each other, an engine can both determine what a page is about, if the keywords of the linked pages are similar to the keywords on the original page.
If you produce quality content then you don’t really have to worry about much since the search engines will quickly decide if your site is relevant and valuable
Learn All The Secrets Of The African Grey Parrot
March 12, 2009 at 5:40 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsThe African grey parrot is a medium-sized parrot that originates from the central parts of Africa. They are said to be perhaps the most intelligent of all parrots, with an adept ability to mimic human words and expressions. This is the reason why they are very popular as pets in modern day households. Most African grey Parrots are predominantly grey all over with a small color difference on their tails, usually maroon or a darker shade of grey.
One incredible characteristic that the African grey parrot carries is its incredible ability to solve even the most complex of problems. Very few parrot species have this kind of ability and it is because of this that the African grey stands out above the rest. This characteristic is tied in with their talking ability as they can learn to mimic any sound just by listening and applying this to their own vocal patterns.
Every African grey parrot has the potential to mimic almost every sound that hears, however some more than others. Parrots that are left alone in their cages with no way to stimulate their brains generally learn to talk or mimic the sounds they hear around them. Parrots that are handled often by humans have no need for the extra stimulation that sound imitation provides them so they often learn very few sounds. This doesn’t mean people should neglect their Parrots for the sole reason of getting them to talk. There are different training manuals to help Parrots learn the basics of sound imitation.
One notorious trait that the African grey parrot has is its feather plucking habit. This can make for a very messy and disease ridden cage and therefore owners are advised to clean the parrot cage once every two or three days. The reason why a parrot plucks his or her feathers is because it is bored and needs a source of stimulation. If owners spend enough time with their parrot every day, perhaps one or two hours, it will have no need to pluck its feathers as it is getting enough stimulation from the human presence around it.
It is commonly known that an African grey parrot can become almost fully attached to one human and therefore become aggressive towards other people. This trait just proves one thing, that African grey Parrots are the perfect companion. You could perhaps say that they are the new mans best friend!
The Cocker Spaniel - The Dog with a Perm
March 12, 2009 at 4:17 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsThe wavy coat of the Cocker Spaniel is the envy of many who pay dearly to achieve those waves in the form of a salon perm. But in the case of the Cocker Spaniel, the wavy hair is completely natural and only one of the notable features and characteristics of this loving dog.
There are two types of Cocker Spaniel generally recognized by canine organizations - the English Cocker Spaniel and the American Cocker Spaniel. The English Cocker is the older of the two breeds and the American Cocker is the result of selective breeding of the English version. The English Cocker group was eventually divided into several breeds that are now each officially recognized in their own right. The Dogs most people today refer to as “Cocker Spaniel” refers to the American version of this ancient breed.
The Cocker Spaniel is most often used today as a show dog or companion dog, but this hasn’t always been the case. Remember that this is a spaniel. As such, these Dogs were bred for performing specific tasks. In this case, the dog was initially used primarily as a hunting dog. The name comes from this dog’s ability to hunt and flush a particular kind of bird - the woodcock. In hunting circles, the Dogs were often called simply “cockers.”
Today, the Cocker Spaniel is still an avid hunter and those trained to hunt are more than willing to follow those natural instincts. There are two fairly distinct lines - one bred primarily for hunting and a separate line for show and companion. The show/companion lines typically have coats that achieve longer length. Even Dogs that are kept indoors and remain only companion Dogs are seldom to be trusted with feathered members of the household, so strong is that instinct to chase these birds for their hunters.
As a rule, these Dogs have coats of a single color, though some markings of different colors are allowed by canine clubs. Light tan (typically called buff) and black are probably the two most common colors for Cocker Spaniels. The natural wavy hair requires grooming, though the extent of that grooming depends entirely on the length of the hair and the activities of the dog. Most families choose to keep their Cocker Spaniel trimmed fairly short to make this task easier.
Though Cocker Spaniels aren’t recognized as the smartest of the canines, their intensity and determination to please make them better-than-average family pets. If they’re well socialized and treated kindly, they seldom snap and will become close friends with anyone who has time to be pals. From playtime to bedtime, they’ll choose to be close to their people if given a choice.
As a rule, Cocker Spaniels will perform whatever task they’re assigned. These Dogs seldom want to challenge authority. This makes housebreaking the Cocker easier than some breeds. Repetitive training is usually the best teacher for this breed. Any behavioral problems are usually the result of poor training or mistreatment. In that case, the Cocker Spaniel is likely to become shy and sneaky.
Polymorphisms within the canine MLPH gene are associated with dilute coat color in dogs
March 12, 2009 at 12:58 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsBackground: Pinschers and other Dogs with coat color dilution show a characteristic pigmentation phenotype. The fur colors are a lighter shade, e.g. silvery grey (blue) instead of black and a sandy color (Isabella fawn) instead of red or brown. In some Dogs the coat color dilution is sometimes accompanied by hair loss and recurrent skin inflammation, the so called color dilution alopecia (CDA) or black hair follicular dysplasia (BHFD). In humans and mice a comparable pigmentation phenotype without any documented hair loss is caused by mutations within the melanophilin gene (MLPH). Results: We sequenced the canine MLPH gene and performed a mutation analysis of the MLPH exons in 6 Doberman Pinschers and 5 German Pinschers. A total of 48 sequence variations was identified within and between the breeds. Three families of Dogs showed co-segregation for at least one polymorphism in an MLPH exon and the dilute phenotype. No single polymorphism was identified in the coding sequences or at splice sites that is likely to be causative for the dilute phenotype of all Dogs examined. In 18 German Pinschers a mutation in exon 7 (R199H) was consistently associated with the dilute phenotype. However, as this mutation was present in homozygous state in four Dogs of other breeds with wildtype pigmentation, it seems unlikely that this mutation is truly causative for coat color dilution. In Doberman Pinschers as well as in Large Munsterlanders with BHFD, a set of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) around exon 2 was identified that show a highly significant association to the dilute phenotype. Conclusions: This study provides evidence that coat color dilution is caused by one or more mutations within or near the MLPH gene in several dog breeds. The data on polymorphisms that are strongly associated with the dilute phenotype will allow the genetic testing of Pinschers to facilitate the breeding of Dogs with defined coat colors and to select against Large Munsterlanders carrying BHFD. http://www.biomedcentral.com/1471-2156/6/34

Is Dog And Cat Health Insurance Really As Stupid As It Sounds
March 12, 2009 at 10:07 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsYou can insure your house, your car, your boat, and your life, and now, thanks to dog and cat health insurance, Fluffy and Fido can have their own protection, too. But what exactly is it, and is it really as stupid as it sounds? Maybe not. In fact, it could be quite sensible; read on.
This form of Insurance isn’t about paying you money if the pet dies; it’s about giving the pet (or, more realistically, the person taking care of the animal) some money should you die. This option is particularly favored among the elderly, people who are fond of their pets, and know that there is a good chance that their animal will outlive them.
In essence, you pay a certain amount of money monthly to a trust, and, should you die before your animal does, the trust will then pay a certain amount of money monthly to the person designated your pet’s guardian in your will. This is an especially desirable option if you already know who you want to look after your pet should you die–someone both you and your pet like–but you’re concerned that they not be saddled with the cost of caring for your pet. This can be a wise investment choice for both you and Fluffy or Fido.
But dog and cat health Insurance must be handled carefully. Don’t purchase it and then start looking for someone to manage the money and care for your pet when you’re gone; greed may cause your animal to get the rotten end of the stick. Instead, find someone you trust. Discuss the possibility of their taking care of your pet when you die. If it’s someone you feel comfortable with, and someone your pet seems to genuinely like, then you may wish to let them know that you’ve purchased pet Insurance to help with the costs of pet care after you’re gone. Before that, however, it’s never a good idea.
A similar idea, with similar problems, is a pet trust, where a certain amount of money is put into a special savings account, with the interest going to help pay for pet care after your death. The same problems exist here as with insurance–namely, finding someone you can trust to care for the pet–but there are some significant differences. For instance, with a trust, a large lump sum is generally required to start the trust, with the option of adding to it later on; with insurance, you make monthly payments.
Over time they can add up to more than the trust would cost, but the money is spread out. Plus, depending on the interest rate you’ve gone with, you can have to come up with quite a large sum of money to begin with, just to make those cat food payments. With insurance, you’re guaranteed the amount you signed up for, no matter what.
But, in the end, it isn’t as much about trust funds versus dog and cat health Insurance as it is setting aside a little something ensure that your best friend isn’t forgotten after you’re gone.
Penis Stretching Exercises
March 12, 2009 at 2:55 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsPenis stretching exercises are one of the top ten natural male enhancement methods. Penis enlargement exercises stretch the penis as the basic component of a well planned routine. These exercises work on the well known principle that the body is capable of adapting when subjected to the pull of traction. In fact, the application of tensile force is used in certain areas of mainstream medicine and is actually part of the postoperative treatment for men who have undergone penis enlargement surgery.
The corpora cavernosa in the penis is similar in construction to the pore cells in marine life called sponges. Repeatedly stretching the pore cells in a live sponge will cause its absorption pores to expand and then to heal in this expanded state to adapt to the minute tearing of the cellular walls of the pores, thereby making the pore cells larger and more capable of absorbing more water and nutrients.
If you are in doubt about this whole penis enlargement thing, as well you should be since you can’t trust every new thing that comes along, and then you should try the safest option available. Before resorting to potentially harming pills, pumps, weights or other devices, you can use the simplest natural male enhancement solution around. And what can be easier that penis enlargement exercises that can be done any time you wish, in the privacy of your own home?
You will find, no doubt, a lot of so called free trial natural male enhancement pills, oils, potions, etc.
For one thing these pills and lotions do not work. Time and again people have complained about being tricked into spending money on stuff that never helped them gain even 1/8 of an inch in length or girth.
And another, even more annoying problem with these pills and patches is that many web sites are plain scams. They will send you a “free sample†if you provide them with your credit card information. And then guess what? You are their customer forever. You will receive bottle upon bottle of worthless vitamins and snake oils and you will have to pay a hefty amount of cash for things you don’t want and you don’t need. It doesn’t really worth the trouble, does it?
There are many web sites that offer free sample natural male enhancement routines, there are other web sites and some forums where you can find people discussing all kinds of methods used to achieve the best results and then there are subscription only web sites. Even if one of the rules of the internet is to try the free offers first and see if you like it, when it comes to penis enlargement this is not your best option. It’s worth to take time and study the subject and choose a paid program.
A paid membership to a specialized web site that deals with penis enlargement is a great step towards starting a serious routine that will help you achieve your goals. They have all the knowledge base and all the expertise to deal with particular situations and this is very important when you are just starting penis enlargement. Add to that the forums around these programs and the wealth of information you can find simply by asking other members of the program and you can understand why these programs are so successful.
Is An Anatolian Shepherd Dog Puppy The Right Choice For Me And My Family?
March 12, 2009 at 12:16 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsThe Anatolian Shepherd Dog was developed as a large dog to guard livestock. She is powerful, and rugged with a sturdy body and thick neck. She is really not suited to an apartment due to her size and exercise requirements. She at least needs a properly fenced yard for exercise, better yet some acreage or a farm. If properly socialized, she is good with children and makes a mellow dog but a good watch dog. Her size alone is a great deterrent. Never leave any young child unsupervised with a dog for any length of time.
*Approximate Adult Size. The approximate adult size (two years old or older) of the male Anatolian Shepherd Dog is approximately 29 inches to the withers (highest point of the shoulder) and from 110 to 150 pounds. The female should run about 27 inches to the withers and 80 to 120 pounds.
*Special Health Considerations. Canine hip dysplasia (genetic based looseness in the hip joint that can lead to arthritis pain and lameness) can occur in this breed. They can be allergic to beef which might lead to reactions such as ear infections. A more natural diet for them is food containing lamb as the meat ingredient. Another problem can be hypothyroidism (sluggish thyroid gland which can result in weight gain).
*Grooming. Her coat is short to medium length with a thick undercoat and she sheds heavily twice a year. You should try to brush your dog frequently, even though this breed requires infrequent brushing. Brushing will help keep your pets coat clean and healthy Brushing will also help you keep a closer eye on your pets health and strengthen your emotional bond with your pet.
*Dogs teeth should be brushed at least twice a week with toothpaste and a toothbrush designed for dogs. Brushing removes the accumulation of plaque and tartar which can cause cavities (rarely) and periodontal disease. Dog periodontal disease can lead to pain, loss of teeth, bad breath and other serious disease. Your dog should also have her toenails clipped. The toenails of the rear feet grow slower than the toenails of the front feet. Generally a guillotine type trimmer is the best choice for this chore.
*Life Span. She can live from 14 to 17 years with proper nutrition, exercise and health care.
*History. The Anatolian Shepherd Dog comes from a section of Turkey called Anatolia. It was bred to be large to help guard flocks of sheep against predators such as jackals, bears and wolves. These Dogs were imported into the United States with by quantity in the early fifties. The American Kennel Association started registering them in 1995.
*Category: Livestock guardian dog.
*Registries: AKC, FCI, UKC, ACR, APRI, CKC, NZKC, SKC, NKC, KCGB
*Terms To Describe The Breed: Bold, powerful, calm, mellow, intelligent, territorial, observant.
*SPECIAL GOOD POINTS
Good with other pets, low prey instinct.
Because of large size, have good guard dog deterrent effect.
May actually protect other animals in your household.
They can make a good family watchdog.
Can stand a harsh climate, both very hot and very cold.
*SPECIAL BAD POINTS
Can be aloof and a bit difficult to train.
May choose to disobey.
Is Puppy Testing Useful ?
March 11, 2009 at 5:32 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsSo what is puppy testing ?.Just as with humans, every dog has it’s own personality. For dogs this can already be determined at a very young age. The object of a puppy test is to determine what kind of personality the dog has. Knowing this allows you to train your dog more effectively.
Some believe that a puppy test allows you to pick the perfect dog. This is nonsense. It allows you to pick a puppy which is mentally stable and has an easy-to-work-with personality. Plus from experience we can say that dog training is 70% the owners experience and mentality and only 30% that of the dog.
CONDITIONS FOR A PUPPY TEST
It’s important that the test is preformed in a neutral room or space where the dog hasn’t been before and where there is no external distraction for the dog.
The optimal age for the test to be performed is when the puppy is 5 to 7 weeks old. At this point the personality is already set but they are not yet fully attached to humans yet.
The person performing the test should also be someone who the puppies haven’t met before as some parts of the test would give untrustworthy results otherwise.
THE ACTUAL TEST
The test described below is the well known Campbell test. This is however not the only existing test, several others exist.
With this test, the puppies are scored on 5 criteria:
* Social attraction
* Facility to follow
* Response to obligation
* Social domination
* Acceptance to be lifted
For the social attraction, the testing person sits a few feet from the puppy and observes how the dog reacts: Does it come? If it comes, is the tail carried high or low? Does he scout his surroundings? Does he run the other way?
When testing the facility to follow, the tester will put the puppy next to him an walk a little. Then see if the dog follows or not? Does he follow and jump up at the test person and even try to bit his ankles? Does he follow from a distance? Does he rather wander off on his own?
The response to obligation test entails that the puppy is put on his back and held down on the ground by placing a flat hand on his chest. Does the puppy protest heavily and tries to bite the hands of the testing person? Does he initially protest but calm down later? Does he remain quiet or does he try to lick hands?
With the social domination test, the tester will sit down next to the puppy and just stroke him. Here we’ll observe that some puppies will try to crawl upon the test person others will try to bite their hands or lie on their back and lick hands. Some will even run away.
For the final test the puppy is lifted from the ground supported only at his chest (this way the puppy doesn’t see the test person). Does he struggle and try to bite hands? Does he initially struggle but calms down after a while? Does he remain calm and perhaps even try to lick the hands?
The combination of results lets you determine what personality the dog has. For novice dog owner it’s best to pick a puppy that hasn’t got an extreme test result because those are either very dominant or extremely submissive and will require a handler who is experienced.
